FR clothing · cut, sewn & decorated in-house

FR Clothing Manufacturer for FR Shirts, Pants, Coveralls and FR Hi-Vis

Cut and sewn from FR fabric that carries the mill's test report. Thread, tape, logo thread and film, zippers, hook-and-loop and labels are FR too, each listed on one trim list per style that you sign.

For oil and gas, electric utility, welding and chemical plant crews, and for FR distributors under their own label.

02Choosing

Six Choices That Set Your FR Build, From Standard to Wash Routine

  1. 01

    Standard

    • NFPA 2112 for flash fire; ASTM F1506 and NFPA 70E for arc flash; or both on one garment
    • EN ISO 11612 and IEC 61482-2 for EU sites
    • Sets which mill reports the fabric carries and what the label says
  2. 02

    Arc rating

The FR fabrics offered carry arc ratings of 8–12 cal/cm², the value printed on the mill report; heavier fabrics or your specified fabric on request. The number from your EHS team goes on the label and into the document pack.

  3. 03

    Fabric family

    • FR-treated cotton and cotton/nylon: heavier, cotton feel
    • Modacrylic/lyocell and aramid blends: lighter, for hot climates · compare fabrics
  4. 04

    Garment

    • Shirt and pants: layering, top and bottom sized separately
    • Coverall or bib overall: one-piece cover
    • Knit henley: base layer
  5. 05

    Hi-vis or not

FR hi-vis uses FR fabric in fluorescent colour and reflective tape on an FR substrate, built to ANSI/ISEA 107 as well.

  6. 06

    Wash routine

    • Home or industrial laundry
    • Industrial laundry adds the industrial-wash test on the logo and shapes the logo method

Each choice is confirmed before quoting and written into the style's build spec sheet.

04Components

Every Component on the FR Garment Is FR, Seam to Label

An FR shirt, pant or coverall is a dozen or more materials besides the main fabric. Each one is FR, and each one is a line on that style's trim list.

05FR trim list

One Signed FR Trim List per Style, Test Report Behind Every Line

The FR BOM sits inside the style's build spec sheet. The whole factory builds that garment from it.

  1. Drafted

By your account manager with the pattern room lead, down to the bartack thread and the pocket bag.

  2. Checked

By the QC manager, every line against its FR test report or supplier declaration, before sampling. No report, no line. A part not yet held in FR is sourced and its report added first; you're told if the sample date moves.

  3. Signed

By you, with the sample. From then on, the approved sample and the signed BOM are the reference for every check.

On the floor

Purchasing orders FR trims only from the signed list. Cutting, sewing and decoration draw only from the FR store.

When something changes

A new logo, zipper, label or thread supplier, or a supplier's own item-code change, opens a new version. Same check, you sign, the old version stays on file.

Re-orders

Built from the signed BOM on file: same components, same suppliers.

You receive

The signed BOM with every report or declaration attached. Distributors pass it on to their customers.

Polyester thread stays on the standard workwear lines. Every FR seam is sewn in meta-aramid.

06Logos on FR

Logos on FR Garments: FR Embroidery Thread, FR Transfer Film, FR Patches

Logos and employee names go on in the same factory, on the 120 embroidery heads and 8 heat presses used across every uniform program, with FR materials.

  • Inherent FR embroidery thread

FR backing, or no backing where fabric and design allow. Polyester thread and standard backing are kept off FR orders.

  • FR transfer film

Multi-colour logos, fine detail, back logos. Temperature, dwell and pressure set on the first piece for each style and FR fabric, because treated cotton, cotton/nylon and aramid blends take heat differently.

  • FR twill patches

Edged with aramid thread, sewn on with meta-aramid.

No screen printing on FR builds

Logos that would be printed on a standard garment are made as FR transfer or embroidery.

Sizes

Chest embroidery up to 4 in / 10 cm wide. Back logos as FR transfer or patch up to 12 × 4 in / 30 × 10 cm; no full-back transfers. On FR hi-vis the logo sits on background, never on tape: area check.

Set-up recorded

Digitizing file, backing, stitch density, thread colours and press settings kept with your program. Each logo's thread, film or patch is a line on the trim list.

First piece and wash test

08Line clearance

FR Line Clearance: Non-FR Thread Off the Line Before Every Run

Sewing lines and embroidery machines also make standard workwear, so a fixed clearance runs every time an FR order starts on a line or a machine.

Line-clearance check · FR order

  • Non-FR thread cones off every machine on the line
  • Overlockers, bartack and buttonhole machines included
  • Bobbins emptied and refilled with meta-aramid
  • Non-FR trims and labels off the line
  • Label station holds FR labels only
  • Embroidery needles re-threaded with inherent FR thread
  • Standard backing removed from the station
  • Signed by line QC before the first FR panel is sewn

The signed check is kept with your order and goes into your document pack.

The FR store

Separate and tagged. Nothing enters without the BOM check, and FR orders draw only from it.

First piece

From each line and each embroidery machine, checked against the sample and the BOM: seam thread, zipper, hook-and-loop, snaps, labels, logo material. The run continues after line QC signs.

During the run

Every inline check includes a BOM match. Cones and trims arrive from the FR store with their lot tags.

A non-FR part found

The piece is held and remade from a new cut panel, never unpicked and re-sewn. The QC manager sets how far back the check goes, and every piece since is inspected. If your ship date moves, your account manager tells you within 24 hours.

The lot code on the label leads back to the fabric lot, the trim lots and this check.

10FR fabrics

FR Fabrics: Treated Cotton, Cotton/Nylon, Modacrylic Blends, Aramid Blends

Bought from mills that test each fabric lot and supply the report with it. Hover a swatch to see the weave.

Macro of khaki FR-treated cotton twill weave

240–300 gsm

FR-treated 100% cotton

Cotton feel and a heavier hand, for welding, fabrication and plant work.

Macro of navy FR cotton/nylon fabric

200–240 gsm

FR-treated 88/12 cotton/nylon

Nylon adds abrasion resistance; daily shirts, pants and coveralls.

Macro of grey inherent FR modacrylic and lyocell knit

185–220 gsm

Inherent FR modacrylic / lyocell

Lighter and softer; shirts and henleys for hot climates.

Your specified fabric

Send the fabric name or a swatch. The quote is made on that fabric, with the mill's report on file for every lot.

Colour

Navy, royal blue, khaki, grey and orange; fluorescent yellow-green for FR hi-vis. Other colours depend on the mill. Approved colours are kept as a retained lab dip and matched on fabric before cutting.

Macro of royal blue meta-aramid and para-aramid blend fabric

150–200 gsm

Meta-aramid / para-aramid blends

The lightest of the four for the same job; coveralls and shirts where weight matters.

FR Inspection and the Document Pack Your PPE File Needs

Every FR garment is checked against the approved sample, the signed build spec sheet and the signed trim list.
